He envisioned a personal retreat that could frame the beauty outside—while shielding his family from the region's humid heat, sudden storms, and seasonal winds.
From the very beginning, Brian's requirements were ambitious: expansive openings, maximum daylight, and systems that could transition seamlessly between interior elegance and exterior exposure. He wanted doors that could disappear, windows that didn't just open—but welcomed the landscape, and a home that performed year-round without sacrificing style.
That vision led him to Luvindow. Together, we designed a fully integrated aluminum window and door package that brought Southern charm, structural resilience, and modern simplicity into one lakeside masterpiece.
This home featured more than 30 custom-engineered aluminum units—each defined by precision detailing and performance-grade materials. The system was based on three of our signature product lines:
Luvindow's Landmark 70s system was chosen as the foundational frame for nearly all fenestration in the home. What set this series apart was its 70mm thermal break profile, optimized for the Southern climate and integrated with 6+12Ar+6 fully tempered Low-E double glazing.
The system reduces heat gain during Alabama's humid summers and retains warmth in winter mornings. Even with constant daylight exposure, these aluminum windows resist deformation, condensation, and wear.
The home's architectural centerpiece is its open-air connection to the rear terrace and lake dock. To make this possible, we implemented two large-scale openings with NeoSlideX products.
Each panel features reinforced tracks, hidden rollers, soft-close mechanisms, and magnetic locking, with drainage and seal systems to ensure all-weather operability. Even with frequent use, the system glides effortlessly designed for beauty that lasts.
The main entrance sets the tone—both structurally and stylistically. For this project, Brian selected a custom black wrought-iron door, powder-coated in RAL 9005 and paired with a full-length tempered glass insert.
The integrated grille not only enhances curb appeal but also adds a sense of strength and privacy. With concealed hinges, a minimalist handle set, and a softly arched frame, this hinged iron door bridges the gap between traditional Southern entryways and modern restraint.
Installed with multi-point locking and double compression seals, it's as durable as it is elegant.
From the first design consultation, this project was handled as a true collaboration. Luvindow's engineering team worked directly from architectural drawings to create shop drawings, opening schedules, and installation layout references for every unit. Each window and door were configured to fit exact wall openings, orientation, and performance targets—ensuring not only a tailored look but also optimal airflow, shading, and thermal insulation.
To support smooth delivery, all components were packed by area, pre-labeled for efficient assembly, and delivered in sequential lots aligned with construction progress. The meticulous organization reduced jobsite confusion and kept the installation process on schedule.
Installation was carried out by a local contractor arranged by the client. While the craftsmanship was strong, some unfamiliarity with our NeoSlideX folding door system caused a minor misalignment that affected the bifold operation.
Luvindow's technical team responded the very next day—reviewing drawings, speaking with the crew, and providing on-site calibration guidance to resolve the issue immediately. No delays. No reorders.
